Steel Bands and Pannists in Trinidad and Tobago Links
Desperadoes from Laventille are still indisputably the greatest steelband on the planet, and their web site is probly the best yet by any panside, although that isn't necessarily saying very much. Really, the state of web sites or often as not their total absence, of steelbands in T'n'T this far into the age of the web is cause for grave concern. And UK pansides are in no better shape here.
Exodus of St. Augustine is one of the relatively few bands to have any kind of web site. One of T'n'T's finest.
Invaders of Woodbrook, PoS are probably Trinidad's second oldest surviving pansides and one of the finest too.
Renegades from East Port of Spain - now why oh why doesn't the finest panside after the mighty Despers have a web site in this day and age!
Silver Stars from St. James are another old name and 2009's National Panorama Champions.
Skiffle Bunch from Sando (San Fernando) are one of the premier conventional pansides, but this web site really needs attention - a lot of attention! (And its own domain! It's not as though domain registration isn't cheap enough these days, as is web hosting if you shop around a little outside of T'n'T.)
Trinidad All Stars from East Port of Spain are probably Trinidad's oldest surviving steelband, able to trace their roots right back to the mid-1930s! They are also one of the finest, but this site again needs a lot of work!

Steel Bands and Pannists in The UK Links
Glissando Steel Orchestra are probably one of the finest UK bands, and, founded in 1960, possibly the oldest.
Ebony are considered one of the leading UK pansides.
Mangrove are likewise considered one of the leading UK pansides, and one of the oldest.
METRONOMES are another of the best-known bands in the UK.

Steel Pan Manufacturers Links
Trinidad and Tobago Instruments are as the name suggests based in Trinidad. Their ranges and note layouts are probably amongst the most conventional.
Mannette Steel Drums are US based and were founded by T'n'T steel pan pioneer Ellie Mannette. "MSD is an innovative company designed to meet the needs of today’s steel band performers and educators."
Steel Island are US based and "sell concert and recording quality steelpans. These expertly handcrafted and finely tuned pans are personally inspected and tuned by Trinidad's foremost innovator and tuner, Bertie Marshall".
